We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the countless volunteers and local businesses who gave their time and services to help complete the project, delivering the fantastic shop we have today.
Skittles wouldn't have been possible without the funding provided by West Northamptonshire Borough Council and Walgrave Parish Council which allowed work to start.
Thanks also for the Skittles steering group members who contributed so much of their time, energy and expertise to help bring the vision to life and continue to help shape the future of this wonderful venture.
None of this project would have been possible without the contributions made by a number of local businesses such as Matthew at Matthew Oliver Windows, Mark at Little Knights Paint, Rich at Hammond Interiors and Jon and Tom at The Royal Oak. By way of our appreciation, links to their sites are below.
We owe a huge thanks to so many of the local community who gave their time to help with the renovation of skittles, everything from labour to plastering, scaffolding, painting, landscaping, floor fitting, shelving, carpentry, electrics, signage and aprons and of course stocking the lovely produce in preparation for the opening! Thanks Luke, Brendan, Mike, Hammy, Steve Bonnell, Steve Bennett and Dicky.
After the opening of Skittles, we are also incredibly grateful for the team of volunteers, (totalling over 40 and growing!) who continue to give up their time to help run the shop on a day-to-day basis.
If you can offer anything from just a few hours a week and would like to volunteer at Skittles, we'd love to hear from you!
